Why did the FCA warn about IC Markets Global?

The FCA warning was first published on 1 October 2024 and last updated on 10 August 2026; its website line now lists www.ic.com. It spells out the consequence: no Financial Ombudsman Service and no FSCS protection. It adds that payments to a fraudster on or after 7 October 2024 may be covered by Payment Systems Regulator protections.

This desk has covered similar questions for other brokers, including Eightcap and Vantage; for IC Markets, the question turns on the Warning List.

What does the FCA clone warning say?

A separate FCA clone notice, last updated 30 August 2024, lists five look-alike sites (icmarketpro.com, icm-market.com, i-cmarketz.com, ic-forexmarket.com, icmarketspartners.com) and gives IC MARKETS (EU) LTD, FRN 827935, as the correct details. It records that firm’s address as Omonoias 141, The Maritime Centre; the firm’s own page gives 86 Franklinou Roosvelt, Limassol. What FRN 827935 permits today is a question for the FS Register, which this desk did not read. The Warning List is not the Register explains why the two answer different questions.

Questions about IC Markets and the FCA

Is IC Markets regulated in the UK?

Not the IC Markets Global brand. The FCA’s warning, last updated 10 August 2026, says it is not authorised by the FCA and may be targeting people in the UK. A 2024 FCA clone notice names IC MARKETS (EU) LTD, FRN 827935, as an authorised firm, but its current permissions sit on the FS Register, which this desk did not read.

Can UK residents use IC Markets?

The pages read do not invite them. IC Markets (EU) Ltd’s own site says it is not intended for residents of the United Kingdom. The ic.com footer lists restricted countries “such as” the US, Canada, New Zealand, Iran and North Korea, so its silence on the UK settles nothing.

Who is IC Markets regulated by?

The ic.com footer says Raw Trading Ltd is regulated by the Seychelles FSA under licence SD018. IC Markets (EU) Ltd’s page says CySEC licence 362/18. The FCA clone notice says International Capital Markets Pty Ltd is regulated by ASIC under licence 335692. None of those is an FCA authorisation.
