FX Times is an independent, commercially supported publication covering UK retail forex — UK forex, by the book. We may earn affiliate commissions or advertising revenue from some links on this site; that revenue never dictates our conclusions, and it never will. Where a post carries commercial links, it says so at the top, in plain sight.
What we cover
Brokers, regulation, and the machinery around both: FCA authorisation, FSCS protection, leverage rules, published pricing, and reviews of the firms competing for UK retail accounts. Our reading order does not vary — authorisation first, published facts second, marketing last and at arm's length. Every firm we discuss is a firm we tell you to look up on the FS Register before believing anything further, including us. We do not publish trade ideas, signals, or forecasts, and nothing here is financial advice.
How we review
From the documented record: the FS Register, published fee and spread schedules, the firms' own disclosures and, where the parent is listed, its public accounts. Claims we cannot verify are attributed — "the company says" — rather than repeated as fact, and specifics are dated with "as of this writing" because fee schedules change and reviews age. Every review carries genuine cons; our editorial policy explains the method and what our scores mean.
Who writes here
The site is edited by Alistair Penn, who signs every review. News items run under the house byline Staff, FX Times, maintained by the editorial team — the editorial policy page explains the model. If we have published an error, we would rather hear about it than not: the contact page reaches the desk directly.
